Giving thanks for love
In November of 2012, a few days after chatting at a Thanksgiving potluck at their alma mater (University of Virginia), Sarah and Dan went out for a coffee that forever changed the course of their lives. Fast forward four years, and the happy couple chose Baltimore as their wedding destination. Sarah had fallen in love with the city during the summer of 2014 while working at a law firm, and the next spring, the duo decided this would be the perfect place to commence their life together.
They were drawn to the Monaco’s great location and historic feel, accented by beautiful marble steps and stained glass windows. The ceremony, which took place in the Athens South Ballroom, was performed by Natalie Tyler at Weddings Quick and Sweet, who turned a couple minor trip-ups into laughable moments and helped “make the ceremony feel like a truly special and intimate event.”
Afterward, the newlyweds savored a few precious minutes of low-key together time as they took formal photos on the Monaco steps. During the reception, they enjoyed dancing and talking with all their loved ones, many of whom live several states away. One of the most special moments for the couple? The musical send-off, as the whole room circled up to sing “The Good Old Song,” a tradition from UVA, where the couple’s paths first serendipitously crossed.
